Clinicians of Color
Following the devastating tragedy that took place on May 14, 2022, an identified need has been to increase the capacity and accessibility of mental health clinicians of color to better engage and help community members. The Healing Hub of New York and Say Yes Buffalo will be running a program starting January 1, 2024, which aims to help clinicians of color advance their credentials with workshops, clinical supervision, specialty training and business startup tools with support for associated fees. The program will support participants for one full year with ongoing coaching and mentoring to support individual short-term and long-term goals.

Qualifications: Participants must have a goal to work with individuals who reside in Buffalo, NY. A minimum commitment of two years following the completion of this project will be required to provide services to Buffalo residents.
Licensure Status: Participants are not required to be licensed at the start of this project; however, the goal for all participants should be to provide mental health services to members in the Buffalo community, and this project should support participants’ ability and capacity to provide these services.
Funding Support: Participants will receive a maximum amount of funds to support opportunities and participate in workshops pertaining to: obtaining licensure, credentialing, specialist training and certifications, supervision, CEUs, etc. Funding will be provided following the attendance to a minimum of 4 info sessions coordinated by Say Yes Buffalo and Healing Hub of New York. Note: not all opportunities listed will be fully funded; participants will have the ability to utilize funds where they feel best applied. All funding opportunities will require preapproval by the program project manager to confirm they are in alignment with program outcomes. Workshops and training will rollout throughout 2024. Coaching/Mentoring: Participants will be required to meet with the Project Manager either in person or virtually monthly or bimonthly, depending on the licensure status of the participant.
Post-Program Completion: Participants will be required to provide quarterly reports for two years following project completion to capture the impact each mental health provider is having within Buffalo, NY.
